So in Ubuntu if you attempt to remove firefox, it'll remove half of Gnome with it.
Oh dear... does Ubuntu do it _that_ way.
Please don't remind me of FC... I can still remember the distro, though I'm trying to suppress my memories
I'm not sure compiling against xulrunner is the correct approach yet. The officially recommended solution is still compiling against Mozilla (the full monty-solution) rather than xulrunner. But xulrunner is - in reality - good enough.
Personally I prefer Firefox since it works quite well in Gnome (perhaps it's due to my use flags?) - and because we have a gazillion extensions for Firefox.
Epiphany however is better integrated visually - and to some extent also better integrated in regard to functionality. But not near enough to be a replacement for me. It's too simple (a common complaint against Gnome

The only distribution I've seen so far that actually does Epiphany right is Debian Etch. They changed the dependencies for it to xulrunner, which is the proper way to do it. Ubuntu screws this up and makes Epiphany depend upon Firefox itself, along with Yelp, etc. So in Ubuntu if you attempt to remove firefox, it'll remove half of Gnome with it.
I'm not sure about Fedora Core 6, but it seemed like it was set up the same way as Ubuntu. It's really sad, because once you learn the ins and outs of Epiphany, it really is an excellent browser.
