When I started webstart demo, it's single launcher application window consumed 105 megabytes of memory (displayed as "private bytes" in Process Explorer). Gotta love java technology ;) I currently have many other applications running and sorted by memory usage this demo is on the top of the list...

Java is quite memory hungry, but the webstart version of the demo will consume a lot more memory than when you download and run the demo manually. This is due to the fact that it unfortunately needs to load both Swing and Jambi in the same process.
