SSD might reduce latency, but what good is the drive if it's only going to last for a year or two? Apparently there's wear on the logic inside that makes for a finite number of reads and writes.

I agree that solid state storage is the wave of the future, but we're a long time from replacing platter based magnetic HDs on a large scale.
