Features, Office Michael Crider at Freesoftware Magazine has written a fine, detailed howto on using Mail Merge in OpenOffice, full of useful tips and screenshots. This is one of the better OpenOffice.org tutorials.

This is even the easier method. There is an assistant built into OpenOffice, but it's total crap.
Unfortunately, corporate policy requires that only OpenOffice shall be used by our employees, so I regularly have to assist them when it comes to mail merge, which they could have done all by themselves if they were allowed to use MS Office (heck, we do even own the licences...)

At least OpenOffice comes in a neat MSI package.
