Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu At the Ubuntu Developer Summit, which took place last week, it was announced that the next release of the Ubuntu Linux distribution, version 10.04, will no longer carry the GIMP in its default installation. This actually touches upon somethin I've been wanting to talk about, a problem that plagues both Linux and Mac OS X: Paint.NET is Windows-only.

I doubt that port is up to date - the code of for the past year has not been released under an open licence since the author was fed up of it being "abused" by people trying either to make a quick buck or using it as a bandwaggon to install malware.

I've seen this...

Micro Center (a nearby chain store that despite being a chain store is generally known for savvy employees) was selling "commercial" copies of for $20. The small print for these copies said that "free bonus software" would be included in the instillation of Paint.NET.
