Many of those developers do not contribute to KDE SC, they work in other parts of the KDSs repositories like extragear, koffice/caligra, kdevelop, webdeveloper and translators. Others, while active produce very little code.
And regardless, 450 developers are not that many in the context of design, develop, test and debug 4-5 million lines of code from scratch in the few years since KDE 3.5. Which was the silly statement I was addressing.
