I don't see a problem with it, as long as I can turn it off. Canonical needs to keep the Ubuntu project prospering and innovative. I believe that people are associating this model with Spyware that's commonly associated with Windows, and Mobile OSs like iOS and Android. If Canonical decides to make it more difficult, and/or nearly impossible to disable it, or introduce hidden spyware, then the project is officially dead in my eyes.
