And there will be the release of Firefox OS somewhere in 2013 as well (and then Ubuntu Mobile in 2014). And all three - Tizen, Sailfish and Firefox OS will be a lot more hacker-friendly than Android currently is. I hope that hardware providers will not lock down their devices.

Jolla/Sailfish will probably be first, then Tizen and then Ubuntu? Sounds like 2013 will be a breakthrough for mobile Linux. I wouldn't call it "worse" - on the contrary. It should increase a list of Linux friendly devices.
Based on my experience in the telecommunications industry I am very septic any of these OS will win enough traction.
