Because the Zune was fricking awesome?
The Zune was a great device. The only reason it flopped was because It Wasn't the iPod.
Android has proven that tablets that aren't iPads can sell, so Microsoft is going for it with a cool device.

I couldn't find any store that would sell it to me. The reason why it flopped is because Microsoft didn't believe in it. Same with silverlight, IE6, desktop gaming, voice recognition, NT etc. They didn't get the full support of MS and eventually declined in support to the point of barely existing. Pitty cause MS could be the IBM of the software world where almost anything is developed at MS and licenced. Right now MS only claims to invent stuff but just lies.

??
The technology of Silverlight lives on. IE6 lived way too long. MS was never that big in desktop gaming. Voice recognition just doesn't work that well. NT - that is the basis of all current Windows releases...
