Linux I volunteer as tech support for a small organization. For years we relied on Ubuntu on our desktops, but the users didn't like it when Ubuntu switched to the Unity interface. This article tells about our search for a replacement and why we decided on Xfce running atop Linux Mint.

I had the same "problem" with Unity and Gnome 3 as your users, so nowadays I use Debian stable with XFCE as desktop.

I set it up to look like Gnome 2 with two menubars, top and bottom. Then I installed some of my preferred apps (gedit instead of mousepad, eye of gnome instead of xfce's picture viewer, ...)

I love it: it does not get in my way while I am working. I don't neeed anything else from a user interface...

Thank you so much, XFCE-guys...
