IBM Workplace Managed Client Developer Toolkit is based on the Eclipse architecture and is compatible with Linux. It provides wizards, navigators, builders, and other tools for application developers who wish to develop, test, and deploy applications.
I’m interested in the deployment features though.
“An export mechanism prepares the application for deployment to the server and generates scripts to simplify the process.”
In the IBM version of Alice in Wonderland, the rabbit hole is actually a tunnel that connects to an IBM mainframe — i.e. “the server”.
In the greater scheme of things, one really wonders why every IBM application has to be deployed to “the server”. And why it is always so labor intensive.
All hail the big iron portal!
