I think that FLTK (and so EDE/STX) is a great GUI toolkit.
The EDE screenshots are beautiful (clean and useful), but GTK+ theme used in STX looks inconsistent.
When xfce started it had (much) less than stx has now, probably because Stibs has more options to build with today.
Olivier (Fourdan) almost started with mud and stones in that prehistorical age. And he and his friends have gone a long way into making xfce even more beautiful than kde, for instance.
But IMHO the gtk lib was not a very good choice. I have greater hopes for fltk, EDE and now, for STX.
The problem is that a DE is only half of the problem: the apps themselves should also be lean. But Stibs is just in the initial steps, it’s ok now for STX to walk feebly.
Let’s give Stibs time, a community of users and some developer friends (e.g. Michael from UK). I guess we may have another KDE in the making.
Heck, KDE started with _much_ less!

Being able to post comments – I would guess – is here to provide reader-feedback.
Nobody is forced by law or otherwise to provide positive “You are all wonderful & this is heaven” – feedback.
It would be fake & of zero use.
It would not reflect the reader’s views.
& even though you love OSnews & its contributors – swearing make you look trollish IMO.
Of course great job to OSnews – a great site .
But if I disagree then Ill post my comment if I think for it to be a good use of time.
