Despite having been on the market only a few months, ultramobile PCs, the keyboard-less handheld computers capable of running Windows XP, have already been panned by analysts and many reviewers. Now they’re being targeted by the likes of Sony and startup OQO, who are offering their own diminutive computers for businesses. But Microsoft and partners – the UMPC has been backed by Intel and VIA Technologies – expect to see more diversity in the UMPC space in the near term.
I guess it is just me – Ive lost track of all the computer devices that are suppossed to replace or add to a normal PC or laptop/notebook .
& each category of kinda-PC seems to have several names as well …. .
Well just my comment .
Phones .. PDAs .. the play station … other mobile things in many different sizes … & the etch-a-sketch … all competing for the same market .
And I like it a lot – it’s a phone + mini kind of computer.
Now I want something more powerfull (I don’t mind the size of it) – but I want to be a phone and a computer
I just hope they finally realize some people would *love* to have pressure sensitivity… Even when you plan to buy a tablet pc it is so hard to find information on pressure support that you would think nobody on earth needs it.
