Plenty of Linux news today due to LinuxWorld Expo being in full swing today. According to a ZDNet News article, UnitedLinux, the project uniting the Linux distributions from Caldera, Conectiva, SuSE Linux and Turbolinux, will be rolling out a two-stage beta program, first a private beta for partners, and then an open beta for the Linux-using public. These releases are scheduled for late August and September, respectively.
… for the judge that MS keeps on assholeing… BTW a word solely created for MS… be proud of it.
all seven of it’s users jump for joy!
What Ms has to do with UnitedLinux? Please stay on topic or be gone.
Wow, three whole posts, one off topic, one truthful, one a reply by the list owner to the off topic poster. “Hey everyone, look! It’s the united loser distro’s!”. Looks like even the zealots aren’t impressed. I can’t help thinking things would be different if “Caldera-DR-Open-Thin-Lineo-DOS-Clients” had spent less time thinking up stupid names a la’ QNX and jerking around the “Not-Quite-Open DOS” fans. I doubt I’m the only one feeling a mean chuckle of satisfaction seeing these losers go tits-up.
No, you are not the only one who feels that way: the RedHat lobby has succeeded in brainwashing a large chunk of Slashdot readers, and now a very decent company, that (unfortunately) invested a lot of work and money in opensource software and implementations, is being badmouthed by idiots like you.
You are in a fairly large (albeit not good) company.
As for UL, it’s a very good thing for Linux, potentially a real winner. I have always been hoping for something like this to come around. And the fact that Caldera is involved in it just improves my opinion of the company.
