Apple has released two updates, Audio Update 2007-001 and Mac OS X 10.4.10 Update v1.1 (Intel). “The Audio Update 2007-001 addresses an issue with version 1.0 of the Mac OS X 10.4.10 Update in which a ‘popping’ sound might be heard with some external speakers on Intel-based Mac. This update is recommended for all Intel-based Macs running Mac OS X 10.4.10.”
As I was reading the summary, my Mac made the pop sound just as I was looking at the word “popping”. Next week, it’ll be predicting the lottery.
Haha!
And this counts as news? Do we need this? People with macs will notice anyway.
The problem reported quite a lot of places that the Behringer FCA202 FW soundcard stopped working with the 10.4.10 release also seems to be fixed. It works as it should now with my card at least.
Unfortunately the Alesis Multimix Firewire is still broken…
I raised the bug with Apple but they are plowing the it now. Post your bug id if you raised one so I can link.
I was wondering about that… my speakers were making weird noises and I worried that the plug or something got damaged. I would have never guessed this actually came from the OS itself …. Good thing they fixed it.
Apple seem to have broken a lot of things in 10.4.10 so this can’t be the last revision for Tiger. They’ll probably end it sometime in November.
