Internet Explorer is horrible and if Microsoft had any common sense they would kill of trident in favour of Webkit – but given Microsoft’s ingrained ‘not invented here’, I don’t see it happening anytime soon. Then again, if I had my way, I’d rip large sections out of Windows and replace them with superior open source alternatives. 2009-07-14 10:41 pm Gryzor I think that IE6 should’ve died a long time ago, for the sake of making the web more secure. 2009-07-15 12:02 am matej Indeed; if there was a switch “IE compatibility modus” in software like Drupal, I would be using it on my websites! 2009-07-15 5:49 am Dr-ROX Now WEB developers do the party! If just more hyper popular sites dig IE6, I would host that party myself for everybody. Now I see Opera getting nervous, because their browser is not on recomended list Edited 2009-07-15 05:53 UTC 2009-07-15 9:45 pm mabhatter Phase out next to useless IE7 and we got a new-fangled browser war on our hands! Almost to the tipping point when all the cool kids will be dropping IE flavors! too bad Opera is still going to lose… when IE was bundled with Windows and now when Chrome/Firefox is “bundled” with YouTube and Google Apps. 2009-07-15 9:12 pm voidlogic “YouTube Phases Out Support for IE6” Now Corporate America will never make the switch away…. ;)- 2009-07-15 9:41 pm mabhatter “YouTube Phases Out Support for IE6” Now Corporate America will never make the switch away…. ;)- For productivity purposes lack of IE6 support is a feature not a bug… Ugh!
