I tend not to link to podcasts – I don’t like podcasts and prefer good ol’ text – but this one is pretty great.
Recorded in front of a live audience at Mezzanine in San Francisco, John Gruber is joined by Phil Schiller to discuss the news from WWDC: OS X 10.11 El Capitan, iOS 9, the new native app SDK for Apple Watch, Apple Music, and the 2004 American League Championship series.
It’s a bit feelgood, of course, but it’s still totally worth it. Schiller and Gruber hit it off on this one, and there’s some great stories in there.
Two douchebags getting along? Who would’ve thought!!
There was nothing “feelgood” about it. Wanted to spit on the screen when he mentioned iCloud as justification for selling a 16GB iPhone in 2015.

Welcome to the future, buddy. Best you get acquainted.
The future is like a baboon’s arse, colourful and full of shit.

My good man, I am afraid that you have neglected to take your subscribed dose of Apple Powerade. Just be a good man and drink up, will you?
Both my parents are iphone users….both don’t need anymore than 16 gigs. Both rarely take pictures. They don’t download music. They both have ipads, which they use to read. That’s the audience for that phone size.
The only thing that pisses me off about 16 gigs are OS upgrades. Apple seems to have solved that problem with iOS 9 and some recent updates to 8.
Anyhow, everything will be streamed soon enough.
OTOH, I’ve seen people who mistake their 16GB iPhone for a portable movie editing suite and promptly fill it with invaluable video of their kids, because they film them all the time, because it’s so easy to do.
People should be taught about “flash rot” or as John C Dvorak said “Today’s flash technology is so bad that if i have to save data in southern California for more than 10 years, i would use DAT tapes. (sadly)” – June 2015 on the noagenda show.
Wow. So maybe now you can tell us about the great achievements of your life.
Can they not be douchebags withouth him/her or with him/her? In his criteria they are, and probably in mine too (Shiller specifically)
I judge people just as superficially as you do, i judge people by their character, intelligence, and sometimes their looks ( but only if they lack the first two).
If i saw JLG up there i would have bought apple stocks.
Reading through the transcript, the amount of new information in the interview was 0.
Just a marketing stunt in co-operation with Phil’s buddy Mr. Fireball.
