It is a Pentium 100 with 64MB RAM, running Red Hat Linux 7.2.” Another interesting mini-report at Geeknews was about the ex-3Dfx employees, their loyalty and support (by releasing new drivers, working on them on their spare time!) to the history of 3Dfx and the never-released Voodoo5-6000 model, which had 128 MB of SDRAM on it.

That tree seems really lame. So it serves a web page. Its in a tree. It has no case. Big deal. Sorry, but I’ve seen this link all over the web and it just doesn’t seem cool, technical, advanced, orignial, etc. What am I missing here? Maybe if it blinked the lights in time with the music or something. But even still, that could be done with something as simple as X10. I suppose I could put a computer board in my couch and sit on it. That’d make about as much sense and be about as cool.
The second I saw that page I wanted to drive over to Worcester and slug that guy in the genitals, what a fucking moron. I’ve seen better and more skillful ideas coming out of my rectum, and am surprised that another portal besides /. decided to “report” on this goddamn stupid thing.
Although the first part of the news post is utterly remarkable (in that it being a bigger waste of time than searching for alternative OS’s when yours meets every requirment you have) the second part is quite amazing. Real commitment from the ex-3dfx workers, came as a bloody surprise to me… Might even have persuaded me to buy a 3dfx as my next card!
I hate cutesy stories. I hate this story. This hack is not impressive. I like every other story on OSNEWS aside from this story. Have a lovely christmas everyone.

I thought the first story was kinda neat. In the real world (away from your computer) not everything is practical and technically challenging. Lighten up a little bit. The guys doing it were just trying to do something nice. I thought it was cute.

The casing should keep the CPU rather cool and there’s no need for “Wunderbaums”…there might be a problem with decay though…:-)
