Lismore Software Systems announces Guest PC a new x86 software emulator for Mac OS X. With Guest PC you can easily create and manage virtual x86 computer on your Mac. You can install Windows operating system and access the application created for Windows compatible computers. Guest PC 1.0 will be available in the beginning of February 2005.
Wow. Impressive website. Lots of information on it.
Ditto that. Why link to it…there’s nothing there.
You gotta wonder….
I decided to announce a new emulator which will run Mac OS X on a Windows XP machine at near native speeds. Just give me five minutes to slap up a website announcing it. Gee, making a logo is going to be hard work.
This website doesn’t even qualify as a product anouncement. It is more of a product name annoucement.

Been around since 96, so why havn’t I heard of them, and why is the website so plain. Are they planning on getting /.ed or something.
This company did make an x86 emulator for Classic Mac OS several years ago… It was meant to compete with the likes of Virtual PC, but was EXTREMELY slow, but priced much much lower. It was called Blue Label.

This is a google cache to the way their website USED to be.
Yes it is probably real, no its probably nothing to look forward to.
Google cache is your friend:

How about a new virtual machine to run PPC Linux inside OS X! Now that I would be excited about. Another VM to emulate x86 and near turtle speed is just not doing it for me.
There’s iEmulator too. Which is based on OSS.
What’s new to this emulator ?
which isn’t particularly a speed demon, though it is free.
for a aqua-fied version of QEMU, check out QemuX. iEmulator’s additions would *appear* to be mainly cosmetic based on the info from their cached site.

This is NOT based on QemuX
it is based on BlueLabel’s emulator technology.
Some time ago, probably in 2000, I purchased their x86 emulator Blue Label as an online download. It was inexpensive, less than $50 and did not include a Windows license (I think there was FreeDOS or something similiar included). The interface not as easy as VirtualPC but the real killer for me was I had trouble getting Windows 98 successfully installed. Fortunately they had a money-back guarantee which they honored. I wish they had more than just a teaser web site but this is *not* the CherryOS fiasco all over again. Competition is good so I’d like to see an alternative to VirtualPC, especially since Microsoft bought it.
Google’s cache seems to have caught up with the site update but the old site can still be found via The Wayback Machine.

I agree with iTorrey, i’d like to be able to install PPC Linux without having to fuss with bootloaders..
I think that this crops up on the Mac On Linux mailing lists from time to time. If I remember correctly they (someone ?) are working on a Linux On Mac release but I’ve no idea how far they’ve got with it.
nothing in the google cache either
Here is a whole website full of emulators for OSX
http://www.emulation.net/
my mistake. i somehow got to the iEmulator site, which IS based on QEMU.
The wayback machine still has a version of their old site:
