These versions of OpenLinux Workstation and OpenLinux Server feature several technical enhancements and capture the best tools for Linux software development and deployment. In addition to these technical updates, each release features localization in English, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese Traditional and Chinese Simplified languages. The new version includes Linux 2.4.13 kernel, KDE 2.2.1, support for Caldera Volution Messaging Server and Caldera Volution Manager 1.1 & Samba version 2.2.2 (OpenLinux Server only).

linux is fucking dead, it really is dead, it is plain old unix. 20 years agoi, it might have been cool, but it isn’t now,let’s stop trying to make look pretty. how about somehting modern?? something built on an exokernel for example!

Wake up and smell the coffee, BeOS is dead. You will not get the code as it contains proprietory stuff that is licensed from other companies and cannot be open sourced, it never will. End of story.
Hey Jimbo, quickly, explain to me how an OS which works, really well, and does everything (even questionably useful buzzword-enabled stuff) which people want/need via various perfectly available open-source libraries/environments/etc, could be “dead”.
I’m trying to be respectful here. Seriously.
Is it dead simply because it’s not modern enough for you? Does the newest thing justify the destruction of the not-quite-newest thing? Are drop cielings better than beautiful old stamped tin cielings? Is a 2002 honda civic that much better than a 1996 honda civic? Enough to justify sending the 1996 one to the junkyard, even if it works flawlessly? When you have children, will you promptly kill yourself, simply because you’re now “obselete”?
Frankly, I think abandoning the tested, functional and established for the new, simply because it’s new is a fool’s game. You’ll never be happy, because something will always be newer.

While I agree that Linux is built on old ideas, that certainly doesn’t mean it’s an outdated OS. It’s just … lacking a little in the interface department. But hey, if the zealots can live with that, let em’ .. I won’t be using Linux anytime soon.
