Linux "It's over. The magic is gone. The dream is dead. The egg has fallen off the wall and no amount of 'sudo' super glue can put his pieces back together again. I'm referring, of course, to the not-so-recent departure of Con Kolivas from the Linux kernel development community. Con - that champion of all things desktop centric - hung-up his keyboard this summer, the victim of an ideological rift within the Linux community." Update: And the first rebuttal appeared.

... Oh, Jesus...strike that: Oh, Kolivas !

This is ridiculous. On so many levels, it's even funny ;)

One thing is true though: Con quickly gained a strong following within this particular sub-community And that's it. Worshippers need to have a longish rest and then move on. Linux is not Kolivas, and what he has done - although great stuff - is not enough that when stopping doing it everything would fall apart.

Some people have just too much time on their hands and when they start writing articles, well, someone help us all ;)
