Linux 2.6.31 has finally been released. The list of new features includes USB 3.0 support, a equivalent of FUSE for character devices that can be used for proxying OSS sound through ALSA, memory management changes that improve interactivity in desktops, ATI Radeon KMS support, Intel's Wireless Multicomm 3200 support, readahead improvements, a tool for using hardware performance counters, a memory checker and a memory leak detector, btrfs improvements, support for IEEE 802.15.4, IPv4 over Firewire and other improvements.

This should be a pretty sweet release. Multitouch capabilities should be in this kernel, which if you haven't used it before, try it. Touch screens are the wave of the future.

Congrats on yet another sweet release, kernel team.

This kernel adds the N-TRIG driver for relative HP laptops.

Multitouch capabilities are in kernel since the 2.6.30.

it seems also that next kernels will get others multitouch device drivers.

Now I am just waiting for distributions to have the 2.6.31 kernel and wacom 0.8.4 drivers and it should work out of the box. Mandriva 2010 is close, but it doesn't setup the n-trig stylus.
