In September, 2003, Ecma Technical Committee TC39 created Task Group 5 (TG5) to create a standard for the language C++/CLI, based on a submission from Microsoft. When TG5 has completed this specification, it will be submitted to the Ecma General Assembly (GA) for consideration as an Ecma standard. Once it has been adopted as such, the specification will be submitted to ISO/IEC JTC 1 via the latter’s Fast-Track process.
At least. I long was eager to see a C++/CLI standard. Perfect. I hope templates will have the possibilities (If not now perhaps in the future).
I would like to see the Free Software Foundation and Novell participate in the standardization process, for DotGNU and Mono support, respectively. I know that the Mono project has had input on subsequent C# standardization and would like to see their input on and support of Managed C++ as well. I would also like to see DotGNU’s C compiler extended to support Managed C++ as well. Competition is good for the platform.
