How long does it take for one instruction to run? What does it mean when a new CPU has a 12-stage pipeline, or 18-stage pipeline, or even a 'deep' 31-stage pipeline? So, we are supposed to think inside the box? That's different....te he. I enjoyed programming the i8085A back in the day. But I can't see myself doing so with a modern processor. That's way too heady for me now. The article still makes you think about the core though. And that can make one a better programmer.
