Do you still use the old Microsoft Windows 3.1(1 for Workgroups)? It still holds some value for some people, but the old Program Manager isn't all that great for today's standards, says ABZone. That's why Calmira exists, it's a shell for Windows 3.1 that gives you a Windows 95 look-and-feel. Calmira XP goes a step further; it has a Windows XP interface for Windows 3.11.

Arch Linux Release 0.6; Get to Know Rubyx

Arch Linux 0.6 (Widget) was released yesterday. You can find out more at their website here. Elsewhere, Rubyx is a new linux distribution based on some interesting concepts like user-mode packages installation and a modern init system, and a rationalized services control. It is based on a new pkg managment system that features parallel build/make.

SkyOS meets GTK

GTK (The GIMP Toolkit) has been ported to SkyOS. With this GTK port, major GTK applications like GIMP, Abiword, and Gaim can now be ported to SkyOS. A number of additional libraries were ported as well to make the GTK port possible. These libraries will be available in source and binary form when SkyOS 5.0 is publicly available (internally, SkyOS 5.0-beta4 will be the first beta to include this).
