The latest version of GNUStep’s StepTalk was recently posted. StepTalk is a language independent scripting framework providing access to GNUStep’s functionality, including the ability to dynamically load modules, utilize various programming languages, and other good stuff. This version contains a few additions and subtractions from the previous one.
I hope it can support nice scripting langs like Ruby & Python. It will be a nice boost for this platform.
It should be noted that there are Ruby bindings and such for GNUstep; it’s called RIGS. You can find a download off the main gnustep page, http://www.gnustep.org, or find it in the main GNUstep CVS sources.
There is/was also Java interface, JIGS, but I don’t know the status of that project, atm, but the code is available.
And besides RIGS and the dead JIGS there is a small effort by the PyObjC project to get working with GNUStep too, just don’t hold your breath.
