The 45-nanometer process is right on time, according to Intel. The chip giant has created test chips made on the 45-nanometer process and will likely begin shipping processors, flash, and other chips based on that process in the second half of 2007, according to Mark Bohr, director of process architecture and integration at Intel.
It seems Intel is moving with giant steps forward in their advanced lithographic technology. Here’s hoping they manage to keep leaking to a minimum so we can have fast, cool-running CPU’s. 🙂
But will the chips live up. Intels latest and greatest has left a little to be desired lately.
We’re getting awfully close to the 20(?) nm limit..
