Sailfish OS 1.1.6 has been released. The biggest new feature is probably the private browsing mode, but it’s also got a host of other new features, bug fixes, and improvements. I would guess this is one of the last 1.x releases, since the tablet, whicvh ships with Sailfish OS 2.x, should be shipping this month.
Did the Android image ever get updated? Still contemplating putting on my nexus 4 one day.

“based on the 10th Sailfish OS update 1.1.4.29”
I have been using the community port for nexus 4 for a couple of months. There are some missing things but it is very stable.
Didn’t they say in July?
Exactly.
End of July is the current target
The best part is that it finally deals with the btrfs balancing issues the phone had since day one. It could get really bad if you ran out of internal space especially during an update. Now it monitors available space and does a balance on it’s own prior the update. I feel much safer now recommending a Jolla to other non technical users. The new email search was also quite useful already…
Also, the Facebook API was broken and is working again. But that’s not related to the update.

I would love to flash sailfish to my 2013 Nexus 7 Wifi, I’ve seen posts showing a convoluted way of getting it on there, but there is a “chance” there is no network etc etc.
I didn’t try it, but according to this it should be functional (to a degree):

Yes, I tried that,
Bluetooth and GPS are known to work, camera is known not to work. Note, that WiFi might not work due to mismatching driver versions – this still needs some investigation
no Wifi
I wish they would hurry up. I would like a tablet but I am avoiding Android as I don’t trust the software. Too much phone culture of spying on you all the time.
