BTW, the Technoids team is looking for volunteer translators in several languages, especially english to translate their magazines.
i saw the two videos of zeta where Bernd was ahowing it capabilities and i have to say that i liked it a lot. to this date, BeOS looks very powerful, it just needs more support and new software. I can not wait for the final release.

What’s you saw in theses videos are the (at least) 3 years old Be’s technologies..which was ahead of his time.
Anyway, yT will continue to improved BeOS, i sure they do (i’am crossing my fingers)
just want to say BeOS was not ahead of is time at all, it’s just that all other have been really lazy.
Yea, Be WAS ahead the others back then! IMHO i think BeOS still is!
Zeta isn’t more powerful than BeOS R5, it is only preR6 with a lot of new and old stuff. BUT, BeOS, which Zeta is, is a great OS, so, if you liked what you saw, and don’t want to spend money until R1 are released (like me), you can download BeOS R5 PE at http://www.bebits.com! It’s great!

I dunno what you mean by BeOS was not a head of is time at all.
I but i do know that they have a really cool feature of utilizing processors efficiently, better than some OSzed around not because their interface is bloated but their kernel is good.
Check out the forums on BeOSJournal, Euan and team have finally cracked the 1Gb limit in BeOS.
ZetaDude, sorry i don’t want to tell BeOS is no good (it’s my full time OS even now). I just mean that no technology was developed for it that was not existing before.
Perhaps that because no other OS ever have being as ahead of is time, we could say that BeOS was the one that came in the top. But i would have a hard time choosing between this Newton and amiga OS.
It is kind of strange, that Beos could be written from scratch. Its an good operating system, that afcause needs improvement. But why are there not more new operating systems written from scratch in an modern programming language? All you need is a team of people taking it up. What is holding it back? I see a few good ones – windows, Mac os, linux, unix, Beos, and an huge pile of versions derived from them.
Or maybe we should move away from the Os, and make it more hardware like- for example- my standalone dvd player can play -mp3, svcd, dvd, audio cd- so it does not need an Os there, so could other applications, leaving valuable space in my ram , and no dependence on the Os.
It is probably an matter of time untill an new operating system will be written, maybe the asian countries will take on the challange.
cybernout.
cybernout: Never about SkyOS, Syllable, OpenBeOS .. ?
i mean “never heard”
Do you have a link to that?
I wonder in what way they were able to do this.

It’s not solution but a workaround to bring some life to your box :p
Thanks for, in particular it is this page correct?

So it is a hack just to be able to boot the machine with more than 1GB of RAM.
It works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Used zbeos and booted into a 2GB bone partition :-).
THANKS

The player has an operating system.
How do you select which MP3 song to play?
And all these functions need to be duplicated in a desktop computer OS in case you want to play the same disk on both boxes at various times.
the technoids should translate the mag into german first. awful ortography and grammar
