I tried to download the .img; the link obviously point to /home/ftp/pub/sourceforge//s/so/sourceforge/menuet/mos076.img, which is certainly an incorrect address. Hopeful, it will be noted and corrected.
good: an idea of an operating system with a GUI written in assembly, sad: as of 200 oses around the world, 197 of them are for intel architecture compatible computers only. you people have a great choose of such stuff. and are being IA-centric. sad 2: for this os, I can only look at screenshots, VirtualPC can run it, reporting a processor error.
Anybody booting this of of flash or USB? My Thinkpad X22 has a CF slot. Wonder if i could boot this really fast for some easy web browsing. No mention of WiFi card support.
Great! But I wonder when version 1.0 will be out.
considering it’s an OS written in assembly, probably a while.
i stil can’t conect to hte interent in this release…..i am behind a router if that has anything to do with it…

according to the documentation, only “Realtech 8029 and Intel 8255x based Ethernet PCI cards” will work with it…
You can download it at

RTL8139 is supported, too. SiS900 driver is being worked on.

I think people would be of a lot better checking http://radios.sourceforge.net/ if you’re looking for an ASM OS.
Otherwise Menuet is quite alright…
I tried it. Very easy, just make a floppy and do a floppy boot. A fast, nice, ingenious OS, IMHO.
Anyone who wants fast and small needs to think asm. This is really the way to go.

Pre-configured Distros are available that have been tested on an array of computers.
Functionality was the primary concern.

Use the floppy boot maker or burn the iso for a CD Booter.
The image (menuet.img) can be written to FAT32 HD (root)and started with a (*recent copy of MEOSLOAD.COM (check the forum @ http://www.menuet.org).
