They’re not even cutting that. It’s unknown how Businessweek even came to that conclusion since no one at MS ever indicated this or any other major cuts. WinFS will function just as MS indicated at PDC (including networked scenarios). There are some corporate scenarios that will only be enabled once Longhorn Server is ready however.
MS is pushing the next public build of Longhorn out to developers in a couple of weeks for WinHEC, and none of the major features will be cut.
