The Embedded Voice Toolkit allows developers to more easily build embedded speech applications using a graphical user interface (GUI) rather than “command-line” coding. The toolkit provides several key components: A set of Eclipse-based plug-ins generate, manage, and test grammar and custom pronunciations. It also provides extension to IBM’s range of tools.

I don’t see what the problem is with it only being supported on Windows. Perhaps Marc Collin and Anonymous could enlighten us?
My quess would be that some people, have an interest in using this toolkit on other/multible platforms, like MacOSX, Linux and *BSDs.
Obviously, a lot of people were hoping to use the toolkit on other OSs
I’d like to use this but I’m on Linux. A few years ago, when they started their $1B Linux push, IBM decided that ViaVoice should no longer be available for Linux. I’ve never really overcome my bitterness at this decision. Now that I want voice software for Linux, there seems to be nothing available.
I was hoping this one would be different. Alas…
