With the addition of cameras, music players and more, mobile phones are becoming increasingly more integrated with consumer electronics and a staple of everyday life. BetaNews spoke with Nokia's top user interface guru, Christian Lindholm -- once dubbed the "godfather of mobile phone users" -- to discuss the design challenges prevented by such convergence, and his new project called Lifeblog.

OpenVPN, the versatile multi-platform SSL VPN has reached the 2.0 milestone. The new release features many improvements, most noteably it allows multiple clients to connect to a single OpenVPN server process over a single TCP or UDP port.

According to this Linuxworld article, OpenOffice.org 2.0 will be delayed until at least June or July because of the level of feedback received on the beta. The project's other significant problem, according to developers at this year's OpenOffice.org conference in Canberra, Australia, is the shortage of developers not tied to Sun.

Expert Zone reports: "Syllable 0.5.6 has been released. "The full changelog can be found below, but the major highlights of this release are improved Audio/Video support, support for CD writing with Cdrtools 2.1, enhanced POSIX compliance, a large list of kernel enhancements including basic ACPI support and a major new version of the GNU C library."
