After a long waiting, WinUAE 1.0 is released for all nostalgic Amiga fans.

Amiga, Inc. today announced the launch of the new AmigaAnywhere™ SDK (software development kit) version 1.5, providing increased performance, time to market and revenue opportunity for Amiga's global developer community.

KMOS, Inc. announced that it has completed all registrations to change its corporate identity to Amiga, Inc. Amiga also announced the launch of AmigaAnywhere version 1.5 and mentions a new Amiga SDK under development. AmigaWorld.net is hosting a translated OS4 pre-release review from the latest issue of the popular Swedish computer magazine DatorMagazin. Also Michael "The Terminator" Rozeboom has written an article for IntuitionBase.com within which he tries to explain why the PPC platform is currently a good choice for AmigaOS4.

Neil C. has committed a first release of the AROS native TCP/IP stack to the CVS.

Ars Technica has published a review of the AmigaOS4 Developer Pre-release (+Update 1) and the MicroA1-C. For a short summary regarding the most recent AmigaOS4 happenings I wrote a small update summary.

Hyperion Entertainment and the Amiga OS4 development team have announced the immediate availability of another update of the Amiga OS 4.0 Developer Pre-release for all registered users. Also in addition to AmigaOne hardware and older BlizzardPPC / CyberstormPPC equipped classic Amigas, new AmigaOS4 supported PPC hardware for classic Amiga 1200 computers has recently been announced.

Nicholas Otley has built a QEMU hosted version of AROS Max for MS Windows. It's easy to use, just run the self extracting archive and double-click the winaros.bat file to run AROS-Max in a window. Get the file here or visit the Aros-Exec message board.

AROS Max is a pre-configured live bootable CD image, made to show off the best that AROS has to offer. It requires an AROS capable PC, your mileage may vary. Download from here.

Closely following the update for the AmigaOS4 Pre-release, the updated Software Dev Kit (SDK) is now also available. Meanwhile some first people have been able to buy Mini-ITX MicroA1-C boards and last weekend at a British Amiga Party one was even raffled amongst its visitors. Also some first photographs of the Micro AmigaOne Industrial motherboard (aka u-A1-I) have been revealed at the party.

Here you can find a show report of last weekend's multi-platform 'Fun of Computing 2004' event which was held in Ilmenau, Germany. The highlight was a demonstration of AmigaOS4. These presentation sheets from a French Amiga event which was held one week prior to this event, shows the current development status of AmigaOS4.

The Finnish Amiga Users Group is pleased to demonstrate the best of the both worlds at its annual meeting this coming Saturday: AmigaOne running a new AmigaOS 4.0 beta and Pegasos II running MorphOS 1.5 beta.

AmigaOS4 beta tester Crisot has made another one of his unofficial AmigaOS4 demonstration videos available. This time he demonstrates AmigaOS4's default movie player MooVId. Download Video (DivX codec required, 4.96 MB) This Saturday Dr. Garry Hare Ph.D., the CEO of the AmigaOS owning company KMOS will make announcements at the AmiWest banquet dinner and hold a live interview on Sunday. People will be able to follow AmiWest by updating webcam images, live audio and live video streaming coverage.

Due to criticism regarding Crisot's first video, the beta-tester created a new video (24.7 MB file) to demonstrate the speed of OS4 running with a native version of P96 combined with an accelerated Voodoo 3 driver. This version shows almost no flickering and also shows Quake launching and running. Like with the previous video this is not an official OS4 demonstration.
