Amigaworld has obtained a lengthy interview with KMOS CEO Garry Hare, the new Amiga OS owner.

Amiga, Inc. announced today that it has sold the Amiga Operating System to KMOS, Inc, allowing Amiga, Inc to focus on the growing mobile market. On April 23, 2003 Amiga entered into an Agreement with Itec LLC, later acquired by KMOS, Inc. for the transfer and sale of all of Amiga's right, title, source code, and all versions, from the "Classic Amiga Operating System" through AmigaOS 4.0 and all subsequent versions to KMOS, Inc. The PR gives no explanation about the exact future of Amiga OS 4.

A new screenshot showing OS4's default icon set by Martin "Mason" Merz has been revealed (not all icons shown in the shot are the new ones though). Also Q&A session 27 with Amiga's CTO Fleecy Moss is now available. Hyperion, Eyetech, AmigaWorld.net and many more exhibitors will attend the upcoming AmiGBG fair in Sweden.

These are the latest OS4 screenshots showing a general workbench shot showing IBrowse, SoundPlayer, and the new layers library in action that allows shaped and masked windows, a few 68k programs and two shots from Descent 2.

Hyperion Entertainment and the OS 4.0 development team announced that OS4 development has now sufficiently advanced for a comprehensive Developer Pre-release of Amiga OS 4.0 to be distributed to all current AmigaOne owners shortly after the New Year.

Amiga Inc has published an extensive CAM article regarding Roadshow, AmigaOS4's default TCP/IP stack. Also an AmigaOS4 screenshot from the latest CAM issue has been made available to show that Hyperion's 3D API "Warp3D" is now running natively on the AmigaOne. And here are some latest AmigaOS4 pictures from a French Amiga event.

Elena Novaretti has released a small patch for version 3.5 and 3.9 of AmigaOS adding transparent support for 24-bit PNG icons and alpha channel transparency. Comparison workbench screenshots: 256 color classic icons and 24-bit PNG icons with the patch installed.

AmigaOS4 beta-tester Elwood has written an AmigaOne review which includes some videos, including one of the alpha version of AmigaOS4 booting on his AmigaOne. Also NeRP recently uploaded a screenshot. And here is Amiga CTO's 21st Q&A session.

Amiga.org has done an extensive interview with ex-Commodore Amiga system designer Dave Haynie, who designed many critical parts of the classic Amiga 2000, 3000 and 4000 desktop computers. Also Amiga Inc has released a new CAM article written by Oliver Roberts regarding AmigaOS4 datatypes.

A few days ago an Amiga event took place in Empoli, Italy. Here are reports of it (1, 2) and also pictures of the event (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). In the event there was also a MorphOS show and a YellowTAB Zeta one.
