Intel has begun an effort to make it easier for sales partners in China and India to sell desktop computers running Linux, starting a more active phase in the company’s help with the open-source operating system.

Finally Intel is seriously thinking about Linux, nice to see that. Most of the time when we buy Intel mother boards we only get packages & drivers related to MS-Window. Hope to change that picture soon. I guess Intel has realised that if they still ignore the linux os with partner ship MS they may entirly loose grip in India & China and AMD may cache on this chance. Anyhow its going to help people in india & china.

I always had a feeling that Intel was more pro-Linux than AMD. Good to see more support from an Industry leader.
Note that Suse, Mandrake, and Ubuntu are breaking the Intel licensing terms by distributing the firmware. It seems that Intel doesn’t really care, but it’s a clear violation nonetheless.
