Apple "All three major Russian cellcos have stopped selling the iPhone, the most dramatic instance so far in a rising tide of operator backlash against Apple's tough contractual requirements. VimpelCom has severed its ties with the handset provider, following in the footsteps of MTS and MegaFon. VimpelCom says it has put Samsung at the top of its list of smartphones to promote under its BeeLine brand. According to PhoneArena, VimpelCom blamed 'draconian contracts' and 'harsh conditions [...] especially in the marketing department' for its decision to dump the iPhone and sign a new deal with Samsung." Apple's treatment of carriers has long been a sore point, however, carriers didn't have much choice. Now that the iPhone is by far no longer the only big money maker, carriers have more leverage.

More excuses. So you imply potential bribery on the part of a multinational corporation as a means of winding down after work? The mind boggles.

For information, as far as I know, this information is posted on the open Web, and those posting are responsible for what they post.

What has my knowing you to do with me asking you to stop vilifying an entire company if you have no evidence, and to stop making specious claims or inferences you cannot possibly back up?

Yes, speculate away but I know families that work for Samsung, in its many divisions: these are people, too - you airily make such statements as a means of diversion while they are working hard to produce a lot of interesting, intelligent, new things to the best of their ability and conscience to make their way in the world.

Why would you need to stop yourself from going further if you merely wanted to indicate "Samsung probably made a better offer"?

Nothing you say stacks up, frankly.

So, I use words you have may to look up. It's called educating oneself. I come from a poor background, learning was my way out. It's nothing to do with feeling smug or winning arguments.

See what you want to see. Next time remember the notion: "Say what you mean and mean what you say" before spouting anything else in an open forum.

You not knowing me has to do with the personal nature of your criticisms, you seem to focus on what a better person you are but I see no evidence, I think it's more likely you misrepresent the model to society you'd like to believe you are.

But regardless, I've clearly unwittingly thrown you into an unnatural amount of defensiveness for a company who are close to your heart and I shouldn't have got involved.

In which case I apologise to you and all the swathes of people you know with a vested interest in this; for the devastating news that I made a small aside in a reply to a moot point in the comments section on a tech blog which reposted a small interest story, suggesting a range of possibilities in terms of incentives Samsung offered as part of the deal they just signed with all the major carriers in Russia.

But most of all I apologise to the poor poor children, who was thinking of them?
