Tiling window manager for Microsoft Windows

WindowSizer was just released, a tiling window manager for Microsoft Windows: It picks up where the Tile Windows command leaves off. Useful for viewing multiple application windows. Resizing one window resizes others to maintain a no gap, no overlap efficient workspace. Swap window positions in arrangement with drag and drop. Save common work arrangements to bring back when you like.

Review of Fedora Core 2

First, allow me to say that I have only been using Linux for about 5 months, so I'm a comparative newbie to many in the Linux world. I don't make presumptions to know everything. With that in mind, this review is not geared toward the Linux veteran, but for people who have more curiosity than experience with Linux.

SkyOS 5.0 Beta 6 Released

SkyOS 5.0 beta 6 has been released to all SkyOS beta team members. There are too many changes and improvements to mention them all, but many recent news items are newly available in this beta, including the new ISS, improvements to the GUI, fixed partition manager, sticky notes, new drivers and much more. A few screenshots of beta 6 can be found in this thread on the SkyOS forums.

NetBSD Non-executable Mappings Update

During the last few months Chuck Silvers has refined the support for non-executable mappings on NetBSD. Non-executable mappings make parts of the stack and heap non-executable when they are marked writable. This makes exploiting potential buffer overflows harder.

Macromedia Developer Tools for Linux

News.com is carrying an article that seems to have gone by unnoticed. Macromedia is looking into releasing Linux versions of their development tools. This will immediately make Flash development accessible. Future products will enable Linux users to program using next generation Macromedia technologies such as MXML.

Mozilla 1.8 Alpha 1 Released

Mozilla.org today released the latest milestone of the Mozilla Suite and platform, 1.8 Alpha 1. This release is the first step towards a new milestone plan, outlined below. New in this release is a basic FTP upload UI, better Linux mouse support, and a number of other features. A more complete change log is also available. Builds are starting to become available on the FTP servers currently.
