Individuals who know what “Multics” is, raise your hand. Now, all individuals who know what a “Multician” is, raise the other hand. (Now lower your hands. Your coworkers are going to think you’re a psychopath staring at your computer with your hands above your head.) For those without hands up, Multics is a historic 1965-2002-era operating system, which had a dramatic influence on computers as we know them today. osViews editorial contributor Kelly McNeill, authored an insightful and educational piece about the historic Multics operating system.
Is it just me having a problem with the formatting on this page? The sentences don’t wrap, they just continue in one long horizontal line until they end.
Opera 7.21/Win98 SE
Hello, osViews webmaster (and Multics article author) speaking…
Sorry to inconvenience you with the mismanaged HTML… I thought I had fixed that problem, but apparently not.
The problem is only apparent in Opera web browsers (and apparently not all of them).
I’ll take another look tonight.
Not because I was raising my hand in the office (actually i’m the only person silly enough to be here @ 22:45) but because i’d never heard of this!
..but psychopathy is something completely different. Psychopaths are individuals deprived of any empathy, and do not shirk from hurting other people or animals. In fact, they enjoy it and gather satisfaction from it. Psychopaths are the most disruptive and destructive minority group in society. Most violent crime is caused by psychopaths, but they are active in corporate environments, too, where they focus on gaining personal benefit while being destructive to their environment, co-workers and the company as a whole.
I’m unconcerned about what my co-workers think of me for having my hand raised while staring at the computer…
…After all, they were used to me swearing at the BSOD during the time that we were using Windows. Now they are used to me swearing at SCO articles.

I like your definition. Next time OSNews Readers eat a chunk of animal flesh, or indeed see a paddock of cows and can think of nothing more than “Mmmmmm, steak…” perhaps they can redefine their mental health.
I made some minor changes to the site in hopes of correcting the problem for Opera users… however, I’ve never been able to reproduce the problem.
Those of you using Opera (or other browsers) that are having problems… can you send screenshots to [email protected]?
Thanks.

I got exactly the same in IBrowse.
Did you check with an HTML validator?
Howdy, y’all!
Didn’t see a link to it in the article, so I thought I’d forward this page. It’s the motherload of multics sites, and includes details on operating systems influenced by Multics:
