FreeBSD Without much ado, the FreeSBIE team has released a beta of their upcoming version 2. "You can download the beta from the torrent. You can log in as user 'freesbie' (no password) and try 'startxfce4' or 'startfluxbox'. You won't find the preconfigured menus and settings as Dave's still working on them, but you can run `openoffice.org' from a terminal. All you readers are strongly welcome if you can give it a test and report feedback, we are working hard for the new release." Note: Let's try not to get knickers in a twist over the icon this time, shall we?

I preffer having a 3 mbit connection for $40 and still can use it freely and the way I want withouth nobody blocking anything. I love my ISP for having a policie to not ever spy nor block content you can see or apps you ca use.

Well, if we're going to brag, how about 10MB full duplex fiber for free? *grin*

Do they really block bittorrent or do they block the default bittorrent port? Sounds expensive to SPI-check everything from every subscriber. And even if they do can't you tunnel it through some encrypted proxy or anonymous network. It sounds a lot more fun to do thoose experiments rather than just lie down and die ( =use ed2k )

Cheers,

it's really plain. Needs a lot of work.. like the last version was very customized. I would like to see something similar.

The link for Mozilla doesn't work.

The fonts like nice.

Someone complained about torrents being slow..well they have gotten much better now. I downloaded at 400+ K. Got the whole thing in under 25 mins.

Btw, I am posting this from the new Freesbie Live CD running on a beige box :-)
