Gmail, Google Apps Out of Beta

It almost sounds like a joke, but it's true enough. Ever since Gmail was instituted in April of 2004 with the invitation scheme, it and many other of Google's Apps have been wearing the beta tag. At long last, however, Google's ripping it off like a bandage.

About time! I bet they were also losing business because their software was marked as Beta. Smart move, it should bring more dollars to them!

Of course, since they've stated that those numbers really don't mean anything. How else will we know when they finish?

I think Google is going to roll out another product very soon, and they wanted people to take them more seriously and not make it part of the running Google beta joke. So they simply removed the beta name from its already existing products and are going to put it on something they care about.
