Why does every UI associated with Linux always have to look so cartoonish and amateurish.

Who are you trolling for?
cartoonish and amateurish
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't personally love the default look of any UI that comes to mind, but I don't try to impose my opinions about the look of a UI on others. I really get tired of people who feel that their opinion of aesthetics is the only valid one. As long as a UI allows a user to accomplish a task efficiently, it is sufficient for most users (even if it looks like it was designed by FisherPrice).
Now if only I could get a Linux phone with:
- Qwerty (think blackberry, ideally in the form of the Qtek 9100 with slide out keyboard)
- WLAN
- (mini) SD slot
- Headphone jack (wanna hear my MP3)
- a decent cam would be a plus. BUt that doesn't really exist I guess
- UMTS would be a plus too.
at a halfway sane (say under 800$ without contract) price, I'd totally buy it. But alas the only Linux smart phone is the Motorola one with useless stuff such as GPS but no Qwerty or Wifi.
