Debian and its clones Debian.org reports - The Debian Installer team is proud to announce the third beta release of the installer for Debian GNU/Linux Etch. Major new features introduced with this release includes the option to install using a graphical user interface on i386 and amd64. Looking great. Not sure it is needed but may at least appease those that wish for a GUI installer.

If I could change one thing it would be that instead of just choosing DESKTOP SYSTEM, it let you choose which DE(s) you wanted.

Okay, and maybe it is time to consider a different color scheme?

So many questions - why not a 'quicky install' choice along with a 'normal install' choice?

People seem to miss the point. The main point of GUI installer is to support internationalization, as complex scripts couldn't be adequately rendered on the text interface.

i didnt try the gui version but the standard is quite simple compared to days of old. i actually uncheck the desktop system an install by hand the things i need... easier to get blackbox up that way.
