PC-BSD The desktop-oriented FreeBSD variant, PC-BSD, has put out a major release: PC-BSD 8.0. "The PC-BSD Team is pleased to announce the availability of PC-BSD 8.0 (Hubble Edition), running FreeBSD 8.0-RELEASE-P2, and KDE 4.3.5. PC-BSD 8.0 contains a number of enhancements and improvements over the 7.x series."

Hurray, hopefully they have a upgrade path, if not I guess I will backup and reinstall. Been running 8.x beta for month atleast.

I woud prefer KDE SC 4.4.0. I have to install it in one of my pet machines to take a look. Previous versions were OK for me. I also believe that they should support Debian KFreeBSD in any possible way (PCBSD wil become the BSD Ubuntu).

Why should we turn everything into ubuntu? The FreeBSD userland has a lot of benefits that are lost in Debian/GNU!/KFreeBSD.

Maybe ubuntu should support KFreeBSD which seems a lot easier and would make a lot more sense, since linux is only the kernel and the rest of the distribution is the largest part of it.
