PDAs, Cellphones, Wireless And this is why we love the web, this is why we love Russia, and this is why we want to marry the web+Russia. While Microsoft has already dashed any hopes of the HTC HD2 ever getting Windows Phone 7 Series support, Russian hackers have simply taken the WP7S developer tools apart, more specifically, the emulator, and now have Windows Phone 7 Series running on the HD2 - months and months before the first device is expected to hit the shelves.

They want the ability to get away with anything online, including piracy and such, that you get in Russia, without having to live in Russia.

I think HD2 lacks HW scaler so it would be intresting to see how well it can deal games if at all. I hardly find it suprising that they get it working, it is WinCE6 after all underneath. It is also intresting to see if push notifications work since phones need unique ID.

I foresee Putin putting the squeeze on (internet) freedom soon, following in the footsteps of China. Especially if the West doesn't put its foot down now in China.

Great to see excellent hacks in the Mobile front. I spent a good time using the WM 5-6.5's for a few years and was severely dismayed. While it is a great platform for hacking, that is about all it was good for, tinkering.

This WP7 looks nice. And I am tempted to get an HTC unit to test WP7 out.

Is it just me, or does it appear a little under powered for WP7. Just appears a bit sluggish. But as long as it can receive and hold a phone call, sweet!
