Hello, I am really intrest on getting this t-shirt but im from MALAYSIA, how i can get it.

My suggestion is :
- To Paste all the OS Icon and write the OS name with simple at the back of T-Shirts. In the front of the T-SHirt paste the OS News icon at the right conner and then write the address of the osnews website.

As long as any logos or other graphics are unobtrusive -- just something small and tastful in the upper left or right corner of the chest (or even just on a sleeve). The green & silver OSNews logo is nice.

Oh, and make sure the tee-shirt is available in -bg grey75 or so.

The polo shirts look really cool. It seems to be the fad in industry lately [those non-software people take a while to get with it1] to pass out Polo shirts to vendors, etc. A version of the Polo would be cool. Of course something other than black or white would look nice. I'm partial to bright green, but that's just me.

A really cool idea would be to do a T-shirt version of the desktop wallpaper you did several months ago with all the OS icons. That would be a real conversation starter. Unfortunately, you might have a problem with certian companies refusing to share a t-shirt with other ones...and the "registered trademark" text would require a t-shirt about ankle leangth!

Yes, indeed funilly enough. David has being working on these t-shirts and their creator for more than a month from what I know, but it was somehow weird that our t-shirts were finally ready when Slashdot's did too. :o)

erm you could put the MS Eula and or the GPL license on back or front in opposition, but I doubt you'd get away with that. Maybe throw in MIT, BSD now that would be a pretty boring shirt, pretty close to Pii = 3.14159265............................................................ .......................

Anyway, how about setup a contest to see who has the best design of t-shirt? And, the best quote like 'Exploring the Future of Computing' or something else. I think, the orignal logo has to be stay same.

I think it would look nicer without "Exploring the Future of Computing," but I'm not planning on buying one so I guess my opinion isn't terribly important.

I don't know about you, but I wear almost exclusively black t-shirts. Seems the majority of computer savvy/computer nerds wear mostly black. Wouldn't it stand to reason that offering black shirts would be reasonable? But yeah, if they were done tastefully (as the samples seem to show), I'd get one.

What about "one ring to rule them all" and have the O in OS news Gold .. i know this is pretty bad as far as copyright but i`m sure SCO will own it soon and they can just add it to the list against us all :0)

Front: OSNews logo. Probably with the slogan.
Back: Smaller OSNews logo on the top. Underneath, a list of all the operating systems that you've written news about in alphabetical order. Black would be a nice color for the list. Optionally, if you like the idea, you could add some sentence under the list. "Which OS would you like to read about?" or "What do you run?" or "All these and more!" or simply "www.osnews.com". The good thing is that the smaller OSes would get some publicitiy as well.

Oh and if you do this, just add Windows as "Windows" and not as different versions (98, ME, NT, and so on).

I'm not a big fan of colored shirts to be honest. White and black ones with the OSNews logo and "Exploring the future of computing" possibly along the arm band or in a small bring on the back would be cool. Something that says OSNews but is still dressy, not completely advertisement material.

Someones idea to have logos of different OSs/OS Manufacturers would indeed be cool but as they mentioned, copyrights. Bummer! You could always just put on OSS logos and hope that we don't look biased.

Let's see, Tux, BSD Daemon, OpenBSD's Blowfish, the Debian logo, KDE and GNOME logos, Gentoo's face-thingy logo and of course, a picture of a short darkhaired man with a long beard (RMS).

I prefer blue actually... But anything dark is good. We nerds don't like to stand out in crowds, so we wear dark clothes. lol

And I have an idea for the shirt! How about a giant OSNews logo on the back, and on the front there can be a big picture of Eugenia??

oh! and we can steal that slogan from Jordan, instead of wanting to be like Mike. The shirt can say "I want to be like Eugenia!"

Logos would certainly be out of the question, but I don't see anything wrong with just listing the OSes that the site covers using the same font and plain black text. If you want to be sure, just add a small notice somewhere saying "all trademarks are copyrighted by their respective owners" or something similar.

I doubt that logos such as the ones from GNOME, Gentoo, Debian or KDE could cause problems. It would be very uncharacteristic for these projects to kick up a fuss. No offence, but I don't think that black text with the OSs listed would look very aesthetically pleasing. We'd be better off with just the OSNews logo (IMHO).

We've been thinking of printing up some OSNews T-shirts. We're going to print up a whole batch of them, and we wanted to get some feedback on what they should look like. Would you be interested in buying a shirt? What would you like it to look like?

I like the look of the logo with the slogan. Plus I think that the existing slogan is very good and should remain. I would also like to be able to get this on a plain white t-shirt.

Here are my humble suggestions:

1. Somewhere on the shirt the OSNews URL needs to appear. This is a simple, short, clear way of telling the uninitiated that this is a *website* (not a printed magazine, newspaper, radio program, etc.), and here (URL) is how to find it and check it out for yourself.

2. The "Exploring..." tagline is fine, but I do really like "What do you want to boot today?" because it plays on the well-known Microsoft tagline "Where do you...?" For my part, I would like to suggest this tagline: "How will you talk to your computer tomorrow?

Forgive me for replying to my own post, but I forgot to include my "vision" for the t-shirt as a whole.

Front side:
OSNews logo and "Exploring..." tagline. Small to medium size on the upper left chest area. Full color.

Back side:
"How will you talk to your computer tomorrow?", followed by a blank line, followed by "www.OSNews.com". This should fill most of the back of the shirt. Black ink.

The verbiage on the back needs to be somewhat intriguing and seductive so that the reader will have unanswered questions after he or she reads it. And where are the answers to be found ... the URL comes immediately after the verbiage and directs the reader to the website. I know that this is standard fare, but it is highly effective. That is why it is now standard.

I really go for the OS News wallpaper on the T Shirt idea. I would surely buy it, if it included OS/2 icons. Another idea, is a grouping of some of the major Linux distro mascots....

I'm a simple guy and I like simple things. No fractal shirts or anything like that. Just a grey shirt (solid, not that "marble" look some shirts have when the fibres cross and the dye looks different) with the OSNews logo and text would be OK. And please, no stereotypes or bad office humour ("I'll fsck you.. hehehe.. hehehhe.. snort..").

Oh, forgot to mention. Unfortunately, I can't buy the shirt, though. Because in Northern Europe it's pretty hard for a decent hard working guy to get VISA or anything like that if he happens to be under 25 years or smth.

How about this one ... a big plain 'OS News' logo on the front, and all the article icons at the back.

The next time someone suggests that we once more copy the Microsoft tagline is the time I throw up. There have been enough jokes on that thing and I'm getting sick and tired of it. Please avoid if possible.

Getting logos and mascots of every OS would be quite impossible as well since many projects don't have a mascot and many don't even have a consistent logo. How about just a simple list?

Now the number one flaming issue: can we count Linux distros separately or as just one Linux?

I'm buying 2 fashionable shirts and funding a pack of 5 t-shirt appliques sent to whatever part of the EC (darkest India?) forbids kids to buy their own t-shirts; a background pattern might be nice. One applique for front/back, one armband-type...any other logo sections needed?
