QNX The recently released QNX 6.3 is now available for a test run by developers. It doesn't seem to be a fully free for no commercial purposes no-IDE version of QNX RtP anymore.

So when you first download it you get the full commerical product (IDE, ...). After 30 days you will have what came with the old NC edition.

For 30 days you get a really cool ide, which itself is worth the download if you ever thought about developing for the embedded market.

a little question
by Glamdring owner on Tue 15th Jun 2004 07:42 UTC

Does it come with a Java run-time (including java.awt.*) ?

Java

The AWT implementation is to PersonalJava spec, so you're not going to run Netbeans IDE on it, but it's OK. SWT is supported though, for graphical app development.

Downloading will be PITA

Are there BitTorrents?
Because downloading 500M without resuming is kinda tricky (not to say heroic)...

I just finished downloading on my cable connection, average speed around 20 K - don't know why it was so slow (compared to downloading 6.2.1, aroudn 200 K)

However, you'll have to check that the license agreement allows you to distribute on Bittorent. Also, this release requires you to register to obtain a license key, which is kinda annoying.

Does anybody know why the download has ballooned out to 500 Mb from 200 Mb? Also, the minimum requirements appear to have increased.

Anyway, time to try it out.

The reason it went from 200M to 500M are due to this being our full pro tools...

x86, armle, armbe, ppcbe, shle, mipsle, mipsbe targets...
Momentics IDE

The old NC only had x86 and armle targets with no IDE.
